Terry Eagleton är född 1943 i Salford som barnbarn till arbetarimmigranter från Iralnd. Eagleton är filosof, litteraturteoretiker och författare som har publicerat mer än 40 böcker, med titlar som Literary Theory: An Introduction, The Illusions of Postmodernism och On Evil. Till svenska finns han översatt med Varför Marx hade rätt, En essä om kultur och Marxism och litteratur.

Eagleton har bland annat varit verksam vid universitetet i Oxford, som professor i kulturteori vid Manchesters universitet och är idag professor i litteraturteori vid Lancasters universitet. Han har omnämnts som ”Storbritanniens mest välkända akademiska rebell och litteraturkritiker”.

Alvin Pang (Chinese: 冯啟明; born 1972, Singapore) was named 2005 Young Artist of the Year (Literature) by the National Arts Council Singapore. He holds a First Class Honours degree in English literature from the University of York and an Honorary Fellowship in Writing from the University of Iowa’s International Writing Program (2002). For his contributions, he was conferred the Singapore Youth Award (Arts and Culture) in 2007, and the JCCI Foundation Education Award in 2008.

His poetry has appeared at the Poetry Society and Poetry Library in London; and has been staged by professional theatre companies in the US, Malaysia and Singapore. It has also been exhibited in the Asian Civilisations Museum, expressed as sound sculpture, screened on national television, and requested and read on BBC Radio.
